Haute-Vienne, France, - A Place in the Sun

Haute-Vienne, France, Jean Johansson

Jean Johansson is in south west France, helping Gary and keen photographer Jan find their dream holiday home in the beautiful countryside of Haute-Vienne, where they can spend several months of the year enjoying the great outdoors with both their families. The couple have a budget of £140,000 to buy a house that’s ideally detached, with lots of outside space and a pool. Jean has lined them up 5 great properties, but after they’ve seen them all-will any be in the frame?

About the area

Haute Vienne is a department in the historic region of Limousin. The easiest airport to fly into is Limoges with direct flights from the UK taking under 2 hours. The area is very peaceful and agricultural, famous for its rolling countryside and woodland walks. Being part of Limousin, which is known as the Lake District of France, there’s an abundance of beautiful rivers and lakes to enjoy. Many run beside charming traditional villages soaked in medieval history and full of quaint cobbled streets dotted with cafes and restaurants. Being one of least populated spots in France means this is the perfect haven for those seeking a tranquil retreat.
