Ambulance dispatcher Helen and builder Andrew from Yorkshire are looking to buy a holiday home for all the family to enjoy in their favourite part of the island-Los Gigantes in Tenerife. They have a budget of £130,000 and dream of a two bedroom apartment with outside space. Lee Juggurnauth has 5 great properties lined up-will any of them impress?
About the area
Tenerife, which is the largest of the Canary Islands, takes about 4 and a half hours to fly to from the UK – and Los Gigantes, on the island’s west coast, is just over half an hour’s drive from the airport. Los Gigantes, which translates as The Giants, is named after the 500 metre tall cliffs which loom over the town and the sea. It’s a very popular tourist destination with holiday makers drawn to its black sand beaches – created by Tenerife’s famous volcano Mount Teide – as well as its lovely marina and dozens of shops bars and restaurants. Despite its popularity, the only massive thing in the town are the cliffs, and it still feels laid back and not too crowded or built up even in peak season.
