To get to Costa Calida in south eastern Spain you fly into Murcia–which takes around two and a half hours from the UK–then its around half an hours drive. The Costa Calida, which translates as the warm coast, has 150 miles of stunning coastline and is home to no less than seventeen blue flag beaches, as well as the Mar Menor, Europe’s biggest salt water lagoon. Away from the sun sea and sand, this part of Murcia is known as the Orchard of Spain because of all the fruit and veg grown here, and it’s also a golfers paradise with 21 courses in the area.
