Former firefighter Paul and partner Julia can’t wait to buy a holiday home on Tenerife, where they plan to spend up to half the year. Both are keen runners, having competed in marathons and triathlons, and love Costa Adeje in the south of the island because of the great outdoor lifestyle it offers, so they’ve asked Laura Hamilton to help find them a property with a pool, and enough space for their family to visit. For their £180,000 budget, Laura’s got 5 great options, which she thinks fits the bill, but will any impress our sporty couple enough to have them racing to put in an offer?
Costa Adeje
About the area
A four and a half hour flight from the UK takes you to Costa Adeje, in southwestern Tenerife, off the west coast of Africa. Costa Adeje is one of the newest resorts on the island. Its population has grown from 14,000 to over 45,000 in the last 20 years, with more than half of the workforce employed in tourism. An influx of fine dining restaurants, luxury spas and hotels as well as countless watersports on offer have made this area a very desirable location both to visit on holiday and to buy, attracting all sorts of travellers, from those who simply want to sunbathe, to golfers, and those who enjoy whale watching. Nearly 50% of the population are foreign residents, mainly Italians and Brits.
