About the area
Paphos is both a city and region on the southwest coast of Cyprus, a Mediterranean island to which direct flights from the UK take about five hours. Paphos city is divided into both old and new districts, with around seven miles distance between them. Both are filled with charming places to eat, drink, and shop, but this also really is the place to come for history.
There's an abundance of beautiful churches and monuments. In fact, in Greek mythology, the goddess Aphrodite was said to have landed in Paphos after rising from the sea. Of course, the glorious beaches here are another huge draw. The Paphos area has the longest coastline of any region in Cyprus, and golden sands back many of the crystal blue waters.
Property prices for two-bedroom villas near the sea with a pool typically start at around £300,000, but move about 30 minutes inland and prices can drop by up to 40%.
