Jasmine Harman is house hunting around Cádiz in southern Spain with Jessica and Karl from Manchester. The couple have a long-held dream of owning a holiday home in Spain, especially as Jesica is Spanish. And with Jesica’s family still living nearby, they feel the Costa de la Luz is the perfect place for them. They have a budget of £95,000 and Jasmine has 5 great options – but will any be perfect?
About the area
Cadiz is both a province and town in South West Spain, with almost 80 glorious beaches. Seville airport is an hour’s drive away, to which direct flights from the UK take around 3 hours. The city of Cadiz itself is jam packed with history. Arguably the standout building is its 18th Century Baroque Cathedral. Just east of it are the remains of a Roman amphitheatre which is open to the public. The newer part of town is found by the coast, where tourists sunbathe on the long sandy beaches. Dotting the surrounding countryside of the province are other traditional whitewashed towns and villages, all with their own charm and great sense of authentic Spanish culture.
