Gran Alacant is situated in the Southern Costa Blanca. It’s just a ten minute drive from Alicante airport with flights from the UK taking around two and a half hours. Rather than being a traditional Spanish village that’s gown into a resort, this town started as an urbanisation named Gran Alacant. It was so popular with holiday makers and ex pats that a number of other urbanisations sprung up around it and it has grown into a thriving holiday resort. The area has two of the Costa Blanca’s most beautiful blue flag beaches and is flanked by a nature reserve, which is a haven for wild birds.
For our first option we’re heading to an urbanisation that this town is named after. Built thirty years ago, it was the first in the area. Around half the residents here are foreigners. For our second property we’re staying in Gran Alacant but heading further north to the Nova Mar, a south facing urbanisation with great views just a fifteen minute walk to the sea. Nova Mar is a sought after urbanisation with wonderful views and only fifteen minutes’ walk to the beautiful blue flag Carabassi beach. Prices are a bit higher here than our last location. For our next option we’re heading a little bit further from the coast but staying in Gran Alacant to Upper Mont Y Mar where you can get a bit more for your money. It’s a popular hotspot with ex pats and holiday makers drawn to its blue flag beaches and stunning sand dunes. This property is in the largest urbanisation in Gran Alacant and prices are cheaper here than our previous locations. This three-bed townhouse overlooks a communal pool and gardens. It has excellent outside space, including a 33 m² rooftop solarium which offers lovely views of El Clot national park, Alicante, the countryside, mountains and the Castillo de Santa Barbara.
Bahía Playa is a new construction located in the lower area of Gran Alacant formed by 62 homes, located with excellent communications to the most characteristic points of the area such as the shopping center, which has all kinds of services such as supermarkets, shops, banks, cafes, restaurants, etc. the road to Alicante, Santa Pola and of course the beaches of golden sand and crystal clear water.
