House hunters Paul and his daughter Holly are looking for a holiday home in and around the Spanish coastal town of La Duquesa for Paul and his partner Sue. They have a budget of £180,000 and want somewhere with plenty of space that’s also within reach of bars, shops and restaurants. Property expert Leah Charles-King has five great options to show them, but will any impress enough for them to make an offer?
About the area
La Duquesa is just over an hour’s drive southwest of Malaga airport, also known as the gateway to the Costa del Sol, to which there are loads of direct flights from across the UK taking around two and a half hours. At this quieter end of the sunshine coast La Duquesa remains fairly peaceful and traditional, with its beaches, promenade, and of course stunning marina. Away from La Duquesa itself there are a number of towns, villages and resorts on the coast like La Chullera and Playa Paraiso, as well as inland Manilva Pueblo which is set back a little inland.
