This weekend, 5th - 6th March 2022, we welcomed more than 5,000 house hunters to the Manchester Central Convention Complex for the first A Place in the Sun Live exhibition of 2021.
A world of overseas property under one roof
Visitors to the exhibition came from across the North-West, and were looking for guidance on how and where to buy their own place in the sun.
Fortunately for them, we had plenty of exhibitors in attendance representing a host of countries, including Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, USA and Turkey, ready and waiting to answer their queries. Alongside estate agents who had hundreds of properties of varying budgets to showcase, there were lawyers, tax specialist and removals companies also on hand to offer their expert advice and answer queries.
For anyone planning a permanent move abroad, or concerned about how to access healthcare and visas in a post-Brexit world, the experts from HM Government were also in attendance to provide guidance and advice.
If you didn't get a chance to speak to our exhibitors this weekend, you can find out more and contact them directly here.
A jam-packed seminar schedule
Across the weekend we also had a range of seminars, Q&As and panel discussions taking place on the main stage, The Hub, which provided valuable information on how to navigate the buying process, where to buy and what to consider when purchasing abroad. We also had specialist sessions covering a number of countries, including Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and the US.
Alongside the main stage, our French Village provided a comprehensive schedule of informative talks and panel sessions on everything you could need to know about buying a property in France. From the legal aspects of buying across the Channel, to tax planning, applying for a visa and more - prospective French buyers were spoilt for choice!
Our Meet the Buyers talk returned to the big stage, on Saturday Bill and Sandra chatted to Jonnie Irwin about buying a property in Cyprus after appearing on the TV show in 2021, and on Sunday Wendy and Lee were reunited with Jasmine Harman who helped them find their dream property on the Costa del Sol on the show in 2020. They spoke about their experience, and told us all about their planned relocation to Spain, which will be taking place in a couple of weeks!
As well as appearing on stage, Jasmine and Jonnie were on hand to meet and greet our attendees and provide their expertise off stage too - they spent time signing show guides and taking selfies, and even helped out on the A Place in the Sun Help Desk.
With our Manchester exhibition finished for another year, we now focus our attention towards A Place in the Sun Live at Olympia London between 6th - 8th May. Join us for another weekend of overseas property action!
