A Place in the Sun Live, Europe’s largest overseas property exhibition, re-visited the NEC Birmingham this weekend for the penultimate event of 2019 – drawing in the highest number of visitors of the year!
A Place in the Sun Live has been visiting the NEC Birmingham since 2005 and has been an extremely popular event with individuals who travel in from locations all over the UK. This weekend proved to be no different after exceeding visitor numbers for both our Manchester and London exhibitions earlier this year.
Over 6,700 overseas property enthusiasts were greeted by 85 exhibitors representing countries worldwide, including Spain, France, Portugal, USA, Turkey and Egypt. These varied from estate agents to legal, tax, currency and removals businesses, plus more.
There were plenty of seminars, Q&As and panel discussions taking place at the NEC Birmingham, which were carefully constructed to help answer any queries that our visitors had regarding purchasing properties abroad. This included what to expect throughout the process, where to locate the property hotspots and the common pitfalls to avoid.
Our ever-popular French Village and Florida Pavilion returned to the NEC, whilst our additional seminar theatre provided talks on Portugal and Turkey. The Hub, which takes centre stage at A Place in the Sun Live, is where our most popular talks took place, drawing in hundreds of audience members at a time.
Jasmine Harman, Jonnie Irwin, Laura Hamilton and Amanda Lamb made guest appearances at the NEC Birmingham to personally meet and greet our visitors. They took the time to share their experiences of filming the TV show on The Hub, signed magazines and even surprised some lucky individuals walking down the busy aisles. Were you one of the lucky ones?
Back by popular demand, Jasmine Harman and Jonnie Irwin were once again reunited with their former TV house hunters on the Saturday and Sunday for the Meet the Buyers session. Jonnie spoke with Maureen and Richard from Walsall who bought in Mijas Costa, meanwhile, Jasmine spent time on stage with Paul and Lisa from the Barnsley area who are now homeowners in Torrevieja, Spain.
Meeting up for the first time since their successful stints on the programme, both talks gave our audience first-hand insights into what it’s like to appear on the show, and how the A Place in the Sun Live exhibition gave them the opportunity to do so.
Following these talks, fans of the popular Channel 4 TV show were then able to take screen tests with our production team just like Maureen, Richard, Paul and Lisa did at the same event in 2018.
With Brexit approaching, the attendance at the NEC Birmingham strongly indicates that the UK market remains focused on purchasing properties abroad despite the current political climate.
We now focus our attention towards the fourth and final A Place in the Sun Live event of 2019 – Property Showcase on the 26th and 27th October at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on William Street. This is a more intimate event with fewer tickets available, so be sure to get yours today by clicking here.
