"All the nice furniture had been replaced with rubbish"

"I bought a two-bed ground floor apartment in a complex in Nueva Torrevieja for €43,000 straight after the programme was filmed. It was full of nice furniture, "sold furnished" and I headed back in December to take possession when all the paperwork was completed. But I was in for a nasty shock, when I arrived with the agent we discovered that the furniture had been removed by the vendors and replaced with cheap rubbish such as flat-pack beds that weren't assembled and the brand new fridge swapped for an old rusty one. There was nothing we could do. We had to replace it all and can now laugh about it because overall we are delighted with the apartment, it's in such a great location and I know I did make the right choice. I love Spain and visit it every school holidays."
