New Swiss ski apartments launched

New Swiss apartments have been released on the slopes in Grimentz, and are the first new homes in this resort to be made available to foreigners since 2007.

Chalet Piste Rouge is the sixth building in this development and is located at the foot of the slopes. The apartments are ski-in, ski-out, just a few steps from the gondola, and two minutes walk to the village centre and all the shops and restaurants.

The development, which will be completed next year, will have fourteen one to four bedroom apartments on four floors, with prices starting from £243,000.

In 2007, the Canton of Valais, which includes top resorts such as Verbier and Zermatt, introduced a one year moratorium blocking all sales to foreigners, as the market was becoming overheated. Other restrictions were later introduced. But now it is possible for foreigners to buy again in the region again.

Simon Malster of Investors in Property, the ski property specialist, says: "These apartments have just been released for sale and this is the first development we have had in this resort which is available for foreigners to buy for some time. We are expecting to receive strong demand.

"When buying a ski property, buyers should always ensure the property is a ski-in, ski-out home, located near a ski lift, within walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars, and offer good views. Fortunately, these homes, located in one of the most attractive villages in Switzerland, offer all these things. They will sell out fast."
