A member of the Académie des Jeux Floraux de Toulouse, he maintained a correspondence with great literary figures of his time, including Victor Hugo, Lamartine and Alfred de Vigny, giving the castle a rare cultural and intellectual dimension.

The ground floor preserves many of the original features, including two adjoining lounges with patio doors opening onto a surrounding gravel terrace, offering stunning south-facing views of the Pyrenees. There are also two dining rooms, a fully equipped professional kitchen with cold room, as well as a staff apartment.
