Full Description
Four-Story Historic Building
This four-story building consists of two adjoining, beautifully integrated portions dating back to different eras, spanning the 13th to 19th centuries.
The property has three entrances on allowing exclusive access to the different portions, which can therefore easily be used for different purposes independently of one another.
As you ascend the alley from the bottom, you'll find the cellar, partially underground, with a surface area of approximately 80 square meters, it dates back to the 13th century and is the oldest part, characterized by a highly evocative atmosphere, with cross vaults, tunnels, niches, and two stone staircases topped by trapdoors leading to the upper floors.
The entrance located above the cellar and connected by a trapdoor and stairs, leads to a fully restored mini-apartment of approximately 75 square meters. Equipped with original period fixtures and a rustic yet functional fireplace that preserve its ancient atmosphere, it features numerous fascinating vestiges of past eras, such as visible portions of ancient sewers, likely dating back to Roman times, which have been meticulously restored.
Continuing up the alley, we find the large main door leading to the stone and terracotta entrance hall. A double staircase leads to the main floor, where we can admire the large living room of approximately 70 square meters, divided into two spaces by a large central segmental arch. The entrance to the first room, the living room, features a beautiful 16th-century stone fireplace, framed, in a perfect stylistic combination, by the refined suspended staircase. Passing through the arch, one enters the most striking part of the hall: the gallery, composed of five round arched windows. Each arch has been enclosed with stylistically coherent and undeniably beautiful hand-crafted iron windows, creating a single, large, and bright space thanks to the available natural light, so rare in historic city centers. The hall, undoubtedly the most evocative and charming room in the house, offers warm and welcoming spaces for socializing, where every detail tells an ancient story. Like the stunning 14th-century terracotta tile floor, which blends seamlessly with a refined perimeter composition of white Maiella stone.
Beyond the spacious and bright kitchen, meticulously crafted for aesthetics and functionality, on the same level is the sleeping area in the portion of the property dating back to the late 18th/early 19th century. The charming master bedroom, approximately 30 square meters in size, illuminated by two balconies. It features two gallery windows and is equipped with a private bathroom. It is designed with a custom walk-in closet.
Continuing along the corridor, we find a beautiful master bedroom with bathroom decorated with fine Deruta majolica tiles and two additional spacious and bright bedrooms, each with a balcony, and an additional bathroom. Once again, it's the details that define the comfortable and refined atmosphere of these spaces, such as the warm red of the Jatobà parquet flooring or the period room passes.
Continuing up the stairs, there is a unique panorama, approximately 70 square meter roof terrace, nestled like an architectural jewel among the rooftops. From a privileged position, it offers views of the very heart of the town center, Piazza del Plebiscito, overlooking the Town Hall, the Fenaroli Theater, and the ancient church of the Madonna del Ponte. Attached to the terrace, a partially restored open-plan attic of approximately 90 square meters, with permit to be fully habitable, features large windows and an additional delightful small terrace serving the laundry room.
