Saint Vlas is located in the best possible
place on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast - at the foot of the last slopes of the
Balkan Mountains, which gently descend to the crystal clear waters of the vast
Black Sea. This favorable combination means many sunny days (average 260 per
year), cool afternoons, fresh air and ideal conditions for the treatment of
diseases of the upper respiratory tract.

Apart from the ideal climate, which is close
to the Mediterranean, Saint Vlas has an interesting history. About 1800 years
ago here, on the site of the luxury marina and holiday complexes, there was a
Thracian sanctuary. At that time, the city was named Larissa, and only in the
14th century it adopted the name of the saint, patron saint of merchants.

The beach of the resort town is 1.5 km long
and 16 meters wide on average. There are three beautiful beaches with fine
golden sand, which according to the European Commission are one of the cleanest
for bathing in Bulgaria.
