Full Description
The location of the apartment is comparable with very few others as it is inserted in the splendid context of the La Dolce Sposa, with the large terrace overlooking the center between Porto Cervo Marina and the Old Port.
There is certainly no shortage of comforts: just a few steps away there is a small beach and a large swimming pool, reserved for the owners.
The apartment has a surface area of approximately 120 m2 and with approximately 60 m2 of covered patio. It is composed of: entrance, living/dining room, kitchen, large terrace with patio, two bathrooms and two double bedrooms, cellar, outdoor parking space.
The renovation took place in March 2012 and consisted of: demolition and reconstruction of floors and walls; renovation of water, electrical and heating systems, toilets, doors and windows, hatches, vaulted masonry ceilings (vaulted and barrel), built-in wardrobes; painting; new kitchen made by artisan carpentry with full solid wood equipped with all leading brand appliances with marble top.
The furnishings, made up of Spanish period furniture from the 1700s, renovated and repainted with the colors of the Costa Smeralda, coexist in harmony with structures of the highest quality. A glass table, supported by a wrought iron branch and set on a wavy granite base.
The lighting fixtures, which evoke life on a boat, are plated in pure gold. Two mirrors are also added, designed by an artist who worked for the Vatican, whose intent was to bring the sea that can be seen from the large terrace into the lounge. Two images are carved in relief on them: in the first a nude woman sitting with her back turned on a beach, while the second depicts a sunset with some seagulls flying.
There is also a navy porthole from 1954, gilded and with other mirrors mounted inside it decorated by the aforementioned artist, depicting crustaceans, fish, and other references to marine fauna. All this, to create a balanced correspondence between the interior of the apartment and the surrounding nature.
Curiosities about "LA DOLCE SPOSA"
The apartment is one of the most notable in the La Dolce Sposa village, designed by Luigi Vietti, a great exponent of Italian rationalism.
At the beginning of the sixties, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV commissioned him together with Jacques Couelle and Michele Busiri Vici to plan his interventions in the Costa Smeralda. In this context he created the center of the village of Porto Cervo, hotels such as the Cervo and the Pitrizza, the La Dolce Sposa complex and many prestigious villas such as the Cerbiatte, chosen by Prince Karim to make it his home. These were his "places of the soul" as Vietti defined them.
La Dolce Sposa, one of the first settlements he built on the tip that closes the bay of Porto Cervo. Thanks to the centrality of the apartment, unique in its kind, the panorama embraces both the old port and the marina.
Furthermore, nature is of particular beauty, the area where the Dolce Sposa stands, the vegetation, among breathtaking rocks, is made up of trees several centuries old, perfectly formed, but reduced to small and twisted by the wind, real Japanese bonsai.
But where does the name of the complex come from? Mentasti, shipowner of the Southern Cross and one of the first buyers of the lands of the Costa Smeralda, had a wife named Riccarda, who he liked to jokingly call "my sweet wife". It ended up that the place where the woman loved to spend almost every day, despite the large number of wonderful places in the surrounding area, was the beach where the village now stands. So, Vietti decided to call it "La Dolca Sposa".
Very rare opportunity.
